As an added bonus, it’s also way easier to record your sets on an XZ versus a mixer, since you can record directly on one of the built-in USB ports. The XDJ-XZ is cheaper, requires fewer audio cables, and there’s no need for a switch and network cables for Pro DJ Link - unless I plug additional CDJs in. Your mileage may vary, but personally I can think of no better option for the the type of mixing that I’m accustomed to. This, of course, may change in the upcoming years as the newer equipment becomes more available and accessible as a standard. In fact, I’d still prefer the XZ to a similar system that hypothetically was designed to emulate a DJM-A9 and CDJ-3000s - since I’ll, at this point, rarely play on that type of system. My XDJ-XZ feels EXACTLY the same - except with a slightly smaller footprint and stacked waveforms that occasionally spoil me. I play on a Nexus2 setup at the local venue, and that’ll be what I’m playing on at the upcoming festival where I’m performing. 4 Press the MENU(UTILITY) button to close the UTILITY screen. 3 Scroll the screen by turning the rotary selector to show the version number on the bottom of the screen. I’ve had mine from when they were first released, and if I had to buy another one today, I’d happily do so. 2 Press the MENU(UTILITY) button for over 1 second to open the UTILITY screen. I'm into trance (proper underground trance, not really into all this airy fairy hands in the air singalong nonsense) and prog house/breaks/trance/melodic prog. I'm not really into stems and wouldn't use them heavily. I kept my turntables though (Technics turntables don't really depreciate in value). I owned (and sold in 2012) a pair of CDJ 900s and DJM800. And I think the Opus Quad is a bit pricey and I personally think it looks a bit wanky.Ĭurrent situation: I'm getting back into DJing after a 10 year break. I was also looking at Denon Prime 4 as an alternative but I prefer the build quality of the XZ, and because I play in clubs with Pioneer gear in the booth, I really want to stick with Rekordbox and don't really want to manage 2 libraries in Rekordbox and Engine DJ (I can adapt to gear no worries, but library management aspect is still there, I know Denon can read Rekordbox USBs, but it still works better with Engine DJ).īased on my requirements above as far as I can tell my only two real options here are the XZ or Opus Quad. I like to use Rekordbox in export mode with my PC in another room (wifi would be good for this, but will just plug the unit into a wifi access point with a Lan port or into a router).I like 4 channels and don't like switching between phono/line inputs for this I want the option to plug in my turntables.strong rumours of no replacement until at least 2025.Equipped with everything you need to create unique mixes on the fly, you'll be filling dancefloors in no time.I'm on the verge of buying a Pioneer XDJ-XZ and wanted to check there wouldn't be any reason why I wouldn't at the moment considering: The 7-inch colour screen enables you to keep an eye on your beats as you put your own spin on tracks using dedicated Beat FX and Sound Color FX. You can perform with music stored on USB drives, access your library through Link Export or use Performance mode via your laptop - the choice is yours. Phono preamps updated -Replaceable high quality input faders -Crossfader cut in -Curve adjust. Use the rekordbox software to experiment with different DJ styles and discover your favourite. Pioneer DDJ FLX10 (replacing DDJ 1000) -4 channels (no additional CDJs required) -Smart funcions -Sleeker body -Metal faceplate -Updated 96 kHz soundcard -HighDPI display on jogwheels, more information displayed. This 2-channel DJ solution inherits design traits and essential features from our professional NXS2 multi player and mixer and packs it all into one lightweight, portable piece of kit.Īs a result, the XDJ-RR will help you become familiar with club-standard gear as you transition from DJing at home to commanding parties, bars, and soon, clubs.
